#LadyAsks: Where do you take your family and friends when they visit Dubai?

Living in Dubai for 10 years, Ed and I feel ecstatic whenever a family member or a friend decides to visit us. We take them to our favorite spots, to some are hidden gems, and to the city's world-famous structures! We want them to have the experience to remember! And although it's subjective, we always hope that they would love Dubai as much as we do.

Ed and I do love to play tour guides to our visiting loved ones. But given that Dubai is a fast growing city (There's always a new place to visit!), we wouldn't consider ourselves as experts. Oftentimes, we crowdsource, read blogs, and search on Instagram.

And so, I asked some of the Filipino Bloggers in Dubai...

"Where do you take your family and friends when they visit?"

Here are their answers!

Things I Wish I Knew Before I Started Blogging

On August 11, 2016, my little pink blog will celebrate its 4th year! Yey! ** confetti *** Hahah! Before the celebration, let me tell you a little secret.

I started Lady and her Sweet Escapes wrongly. And it was not a walk in the park in the last four years! Yes, blogging is not that easy!

To celebrate the journey, let me share something precious - some lessons that I think can help those who are planning to start their own blogs. Because for a blog to grow, there are several important things to keep in mind.

Signature Travel Poses To Love

What do you collect when you travel?, a blog reader once asked. I laughed on the inside as I typed my reply because, honestly, I collect nothing but memories. I buy things - fridge magnets, Starbucks' tumblers and whatnot - but I tend to give all those to my family and friends when I get home. Hence, I only have photographs encrusted with good ol' memories for myself and I'm totally okay with it.

But last year, I noticed something with my travel photos. They all look so basic! It's either I stand straight in an overly photographed spot or I pinch the tip of a famous monument. Take for example my photo op with Taj Mahal! Arrrgh! How cliche! I couldn't help but tell myself, "You can do better than that!"  whenever I see it.

I thought it would be nice to do something unconventional next time. I want to make my treasure trove aka travel photo collection more visually appealing. And it turned out that a sprinkle of creative dust is all I need. Thus, a signature travel pose was born!

"Lady and her Sweet Escapes" was made for my friends who often ask for travel tips, directions and restaurant suggestions. I am always happy to help and I think that having a blog is the most convenient way of sharing what I know. Several months later, I was very pleased to discover that I am also helping a lot of people across the globe. Then, invitations, advertisements and interviews came. It's very surreal as my only mission was to have an online diary where I can write my DIY itineraries and my foodie adventures for my friends.

Later on, blogging became a passion, not an extra workload. I still get surprised every time I receive emails from well known websites and big companies. I do still pinch myself several times just to be sure that I'm not dreaming. Despite all the perks of being a blogger, I am keeping my mission as it is. That is why, I was so thrilled when I received an email from Trekity, an international website for women who love to travel.
