I am a resident of Dubai since 2008 and I consider UAE as my second home country. Why do I choose to stay? Because I adore the rich culture, the modern architecture, the tax-free living, the efficient public transport, the sunny-all-year-long weather, the peaceful environment... Oh I could go on and on and on!
Last Thursday, I had the chance to express my love for UAE at Deira City Centre. In celebration of United Arab Emirates' 41st National Day, the mall set up a booth where people can show how much they love the country.
No VTRs or essay writings involved! :) All I had to do was to smile at the photo-booth's camera!
Peace and Love for UAE! |
Photos from the booth were shared in social media sites, like Facebook and Twitter. When I browsed though the uploaded photos on Facebook, I noticed how the theme "Many Faces One Nation" fits so well. United Arab Emirates is a melting pot of races, and I am happy to say that this is a place where people from different countries, with different cultures, unite and respect one another.
Apart from the souvenir photo, I also received a raffle coupon for a chance to win 15,000 AED! Yayyy! Keeping my fingers crossed. :)
You can still express your love for UAE. "Many Faces One Nation" photo booths are at Deira City Centre, Mirdif City Centre and Mall of the Emirates until December 2, 2012!
Happy 41st National Day UAE!
This is NOT a sponsored post. I am just an expatriate who loves UAE so much!
I'm happy that you're enjoying your stay there.
ReplyDeletesana ganito rin sa bayan kong Pilipinas - "tax-free living", "efficient public transport", "the peaceful environment"... hays
ReplyDeletestill "i love the Philippines"
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you found a second home. It kind of looks ideal for living a comfortable life....but I guess for me, I have set my heart for our native land. There's still no place like home. I guess it's also that sense of belonging, amidst the chaos and all the crazy things in this country.
ReplyDeleteHi Aileen! thanks for visiting. I super love the Philippines! That will never change, kahit san lupalop pa ako mapadpad! I still want to grow old in my home country. :)
DeleteHappy 41st National Day UAE! Haven't been there though, good to hear some nice things in the middle east.
ReplyDeletewow! tax free? that is good....
ReplyDeleteTax free? Oh, dito sa Pinas lahat may tax. Kahit ung interest sa savings account merun. Huhu. But despite that, I still choose to stay because I know there's still hope for the country :) Like Aileen said, there's no place like home.
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear that you are enjoying your stay over at UAE. Good luck for the raffle draw.
ReplyDeleteThey say home is where your heart is. Dubai is such a nice place but pretty expensive, eh?
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to read of your post. Because you give a glimpse of your happy life there. You know of course that we only hear about those sad stories. I hope to hear more about happy expatriates like you. :)
ReplyDeleteTax-free country? that was really good. I just hope here in our country too. Everything you buy in the market has tax making the price really high.
