I am a resident of Dubai since 2008 and I consider UAE as my second home country. Why do I choose to stay? Because I adore the rich culture, the modern architecture, the tax-free living, the efficient public transport, the sunny-all-year-long weather, the peaceful environment... Oh I could go on and on and on!
Last Thursday, I had the chance to express my love for UAE at Deira City Centre. In celebration of United Arab Emirates' 41st National Day, the mall set up a booth where people can show how much they love the country.
No VTRs or essay writings involved! :) All I had to do was to smile at the photo-booth's camera!

Photos from the booth were shared in social media sites, like Facebook and Twitter. When I browsed though the uploaded photos on Facebook, I noticed how the theme "Many Faces One Nation" fits so well. United Arab Emirates is a melting pot of races, and I am happy to say that this is a place where people from different countries, with different cultures, unite and respect one another.
Apart from the souvenir photo, I also received a raffle coupon for a chance to win 15,000 AED! Yayyy! Keeping my fingers crossed. :)
You can still express your love for UAE. "Many Faces One Nation" photo booths are at Deira City Centre, Mirdif City Centre and Mall of the Emirates until December 2, 2012!

ReplyDeleteI'm glad you found a second home. It kind of looks ideal for living a comfortable life....but I guess for me, I have set my heart for our native land. There's still no place like home. I guess it's also that sense of belonging, amidst the chaos and all the crazy things in this country.

ReplyDeleteTax free? Oh, dito sa Pinas lahat may tax. Kahit ung interest sa savings account merun. Huhu. But despite that, I still choose to stay because I know there's still hope for the country :) Like Aileen said, there's no place like home.
