Date Night at Fish Beach Taverna

While having a relaxing daycation in Mina Seyahi last week, Ed and I stumbled across a lovely restaurant by the sea. As far as I can remember, I've seen photos of it on Instagram last year, but I never really paid attention as we were too focused on traveling overseas. Little did I know, it is a gem that is definitely worth a visit!

I'm talking about Fish Beach Taverna!

Fish Beach Taverna Dubai review

Fish Beach Taverna is a seaside restaurant located on the private beach of Le Meridien Mina Seyahi. This dining venue is known for serving authentic Aegean cuisine in a classic taverna setting.

Walking in the entrance of Fish feels like being teleported to Greece! The cobbled pathway, white-washed walls, and boho decors reminded me of our days in the Greek islands!

We arrived at Fish past 4 PM without prior reservation. We were warmly welcomed by the staff but sadly informed that the menu is narrowed down to cold plates as the main kitchen is closed in between lunch and dinner service. We were also told that permission to take photos using a camera must be approved by their Marketing Department beforehand. Not really a big deal for us, so we settled at a table where we can see the sunset.

Fish Dubai's menu has a great mix of Greek and Turkish cuisine. I was excited to see Midye Dolma; one of the dishes we fell in love with in Istanbul. However, it's not available because their supply of good quality mussels has not arrived yet. :( So, we ordered Octopus and Tzatziki instead. Both are so delicious and pretty much comparable to the ones we had in Amoudi Bay in Santorini! The portions are good to share and served with warm crusty bread.

Fish is a licensed restaurant, so Ed had a beer (40 AED) while I had Aperol Spritz (70 AED). I found the cocktails quite pricey, but couldn't have anything other than a refreshing Aperol at sunset!

Oh, and they have a Wish Tree! :) What will be your wish?
Mine is to dine at Fish again. A full meal next time!
